PORT ORANGE JAZZ FEST and ART FEST

If you have never heard the quality jazz music played during the annual festival, here is your chance. The 12th Annual Lakeside Jazz Festival is set for April 17 and April 18 and will be held at the Kenneth W. Parker Amphitheater.
High school and middle school jazz bands from around Florida travel to Port Orange to play and compete for two days. Rounding out the schedule are the headliner bands such as jazz bands from UCF, Stetson, and North Florida. The featured band this year is the United States Marine All Star Jazz Band from Washington, DC. All of this entertainment is free!
Established in 1998, the festival is hosted by the Atlantic High School and Spruce Creek High School jazz bands and the City of Port Orange. The music begins around 9:00 a.m. and the featured bands hit the stage at 6:00 p.m. on both days. Visit the festival’s web site at www.lakesidejazz.org for information and when the different bands will perform on stage.
Funds generated from food concessions are designated for summer music camp scholarships for Atlantic and Spruce Creek High School band members.
