Ponce Inlet Lighthouse Day 2010 !!!
Come to Ponce Inlet and celebrate the History of our local National Treasure - The Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse. April 24,2010 from 10am to 2pm The Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse in Florida and the second tallest masonry lighthouse in the nation. Visitors can climb 203 steps to the top of the 175 foot tower and enjoy magnificent views of the World's Most Famous Beach, Ponce Inlet, and surrounding inland waterways from the lighthouse gallery deck. There will be family oriented activities and several workshops designed specifically for kids. See new lighthouse exhibits and learn about Florida's many lighthouses. Visit our lighthouse keeper (in living history mode) as he describes his duties at the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse. Then join him as he talks about the history of the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse and demonstrates the maintenance duties on the First Order Fresnel Lens.
